I completed my first year of the MBA program at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, last week. Here are a few of the highlights from my time there.
As I sit in my office reading this, I cannot help but think how in spite of all the differences (our PG colleges, age, work ex, UG degrees, internship companies and cities), the underlying emotion you might have felt while writing this is exactly the same.
Extremely well written piece Khushi, and I'm glad to have landed on this. Have a happy Summer.
Also, "meet me for a conversation in person if you want to hear honest opinions . . . . . . . . . ."
Expressive and honest write up which open windows to an insight about inner interaction with self one. Khushi keep posting to make the future sessions vibrant. All the best for your summer assignments.
An excellent material to read from a outside perspective thanks Kushi for being writing with atmost honesty!!! All the best for your internship and future
Dear Khushi, (nowadays, even my WhatsApp texts also start like this)
Reading your blog post took me on a trip down memory lane, back to the day we met in Synchrony. We didn't have much chance to chat, but I still remember how you stood out like a celebrity in the crowd. Your writing style is just as distinctive and captivating; reading it feels like a breath of fresh air in a stuffy boardroom!
I particularly resonated with your description of IIM Ahmedabad as a bubble. It's true that we are lucky to be part of such a prestigious institution, but it's also easy to lose sight of the outside world and its perspectives. Your honest and heartfelt account of your first year brought back both good and tough memories for me and reminded me of the importance of staying grounded and open-minded.
You yourself turned out to be the hero we didn't deserve. The stress of deadlines would have been a lot worse without you. Thank you so much for your kind words, and all the best for your internship!
This was quite an insightful read. Provoked a lot of thoughts really. I am a first year undergrad student aiming for IIMs and this unfiltered and honest essays are what we need. The 'internalized misogyny' part honestly kind of scared me ngl. I also write a weekly newsletter on Substack, I'd be really grateful if you could have a look. Thanks! https://anathinks.substack.com/?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=web&utm_campaign=substack_profile
A friend shared me your math blog (coz my math is so famous in the entire group as I scored -4 in Cat 22 in maths 🙂) and how you actually managed to ace CAT and get into IIMA. Being a final sem student of English lit. your math vlog really made me feel good. Thankyou very much for the insights and keep them coming. Best wishes for your internship and future as well.
Thank you so much for writing this. I’m a CAT’23 aspirant and I can’t quite put my finger on how I felt reading it, but I surely know that I loved everything you penned down. I’m from an all-girls college of DU as well (LSR) and hope I can make it there like you did. Please keep posting about your journey, you’ve surely got an ardent follower of your blog in me! Thanks again for this!
